If we expect our horse to be thinking about our requests when we are riding, then we must be thinking about our horse. Don’t ride to avoid all thinking, ride to think about something else.

When is Ty available for lessons?

The weather is always a factor, but Saturday, weekday evenings, and an occassionally Sunday is when Ty does most of his lessons. During the summer months Ty is also available for lessons during the weekdays.

Does Ty give group lessons?
Yes. This is a great way to see a variety of horses and learn from others.

Where are lessons held?
Ty travels to your farm or boarding facility for your convenience. He lives in Lawrence, KS and gives lessons within a two hour radius.

How long are the lessons?
Lessons generally last an hour, but sometimes longer according to the needs of the horse or person.

What can I expect during the first lesson?
Ty will assess your situation and tailor your lesson to help you meet your goals. This might mean that Ty handles or rides your horse first until you feel safe to start working with the horse yourself. The goal is to build confidence between the horse and rider in a safe manner.

Does Ty take horses in for training?
Yes. Ty has stalls, along with indoor and outdoor arenas available to him at the White Horse Equestrian Center in Eudora, KS. If you are interested in sending your horse to Ty for full time training, please contact Ty for further details.

Does Ty give clinics?

Yes. Clinics are limited to six riders and are hosted at farms, ranches, or boarding facilities. Auditors are also welcome. The clinic length will vary according to your needs.

What kind of facilities do I need in order for Ty to come and give a clinic?
You don't have to have anything that's very fancy. If you want a trail clinic and you have the level of riders who are comfortable on their horses, then all you need is some open space or trails. However, many times a round pen can be useful, or for that matter, some kind of smaller pen or arena.
